POUGHKEEPSIE -

New threats of gun violence at three Hudson Valley schools prompted an FBI investigation and two student arrests.

It’s been two weeks since the fatal shooting in Parkland, Florida, and copycat threats continue on a nearly daily basis, including three incidents in the Hudson Valley.

An apparent social media threat of gun violence prompted an FBI investigation and shut down Poughkeepsie’s eight schools on Wednesday. Officials say the threat was directed toward Poughkeepsie High School, and that they closed the schools "out of an abundance of caution." Authorities are remaining tight-lipped about their investigation.

In nearby Hyde Park, authorities arrested a 17-year-old student in a separate incident for allegedly making a similar threat there.

In the village of Florida, there was another arrest after police say a teen made a threat directed toward the SS Seward Institute High School.

Wednesday's 's threats come on the heels of several other scares in Westchester, Dutchess and Orange counties, including two students arrested in Port Jervis last week.
