Rockland teen arrested 3 times in same day

RAMAPO -

For one young Hillcrest man, car trouble comes in threes.

The 18-year-old is facing a slew of misdemeanor charges after separate vehicular incidents got him arrested three times Wednesday. Ramapo police are withholding his name and mug shot.

They say they first ticketed him for marijuana possession after a car accident on Rockland Lane in Hillcrest in which he was a passenger.

Two hours later, they say they arrested him for allegedly driving while impaired on North Main Street.

And as he was taking a taxi home from the police station, police say they arrested him again for allegedly trying to rob the driver – who held him in place until officers arrived.

In each instance, police say they issued the teen appearance tickets.
