YONKERS -

A Yonkers man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

The Westchester County District Attorney announced that Sheppard Adeghe, 32, admitted to fatally shooting 19-year-old Elias Flores in 2106 near the intersection of Poplar and Thurman streets.

After the shooting, Adeghe fled the country. Police say they believe he had friends in Scotland who helped hide him for about a month. He was found in Edinborough and extradited back to the United States.

Adeghe faces a maximum of 25 years in state prison. He is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 18, 2018.
