Parents rallied Tuesday to keep a Tremont elementary school from closing.
They gathered outside P.S. 92 Tuesday in an effort to change the minds of the New York City Education Policy Panel.
The panel announced it will close P.S. 92 at the end of the year due to lack of city benchmark performance.
The school joins a growing list of schools across the city that will either be shut down or join other educational institutions.
However, parents argue that P.S. 92 did pass its state required performance levels.
Parents say the school was not funded properly, and now, they are left with no other public school options for their children.
A petition to keep the school open has received hundreds of signatures, according to parents.
News 12 reached out to the Education Policy Panel about the rally and is waiting to hear back.
