Community Board 10 will meet Thursday to discuss the Vapor Lounge in Throgs Neck after a violent attack there.
The NYPD says a man was punched, cut up, hit with a chair and knocked unconscious during a party a week ago at the lounge.
Another incident that caused alarm in the community was a risque bachelor party during this year's Super Bowl. And before that, a January assault got the attention of the state Liquor Authority, which is now working to decide if the lounge will be allowed to keep its license.
"In light of the alleged incident regarding Vapor Lounge, Bronx Community Board #10 seeks to formally notify the state Liquor Authority in an effort to support our community against this troubled establishment," Community Board 10 district manager Matthew Cruz said in a statement.
Rob Salese, general manager of the Vapor Lounge, released a statement of his own, saying, "Sadly, certain events transpire that are beyond our control even when following all legal rules and regulations required to operate a legitimate establishment. We can only continue to implement further plans of action to do our best to ensure safety to our guests and try to remain positive neighbors within our community."
The Vapor Lounge was fined $10,000 in 2016 for violations such as assault and unlicensed bouncers.
