Officials say a police officer fired his gun during a Thursday night pursuit in Bridgeport.
One suspect is in custody following a short vehicle pursuit that occurred around 10 p.m. near Wood and North avenues.
Police were attempting to stop a car that was driving erratically, and after a short pursuit the suspect's vehicle hit a parked car.
When police extracted a person from the parked car, the woman driving the first vehicle tried to back into the officer.
The officer responded by firing a single shot.
No one was injured, but the officer was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
