Vigil held for Mount Vernon shooting victim

Family and friends gathered for a vigil Friday to remember the 24-year-old shooting victim who was killed earlier this week.
Donovan Brown was shot and killed when another man opened fire near MacQuesten Parkway in Mount Vernon. Brown was a graduate of Nellie Thornton High School and worked as a lifeguard at the New Rochelle YMCS while studying to be a pharmacy technician.
Koren Brown, Donovan's mother, says she is absolutely grief stricken and trying to understand how this could happen to her first-born son.
"This killer was senseless for no reason," says Brown. "You took my child from me and his family and friends who are all here. We have nothing but love for him, he had nothing but love for us and everybody who came in contact with him."
Brown is asking the suspect to please come forward. She also urges the people of Mount Vernon to get guns off the streets and stop the violence.
Another man was injured in the shooting. Police have not released his identity.
