Connecticut lawmakers are considering penalizing people who illegally park in electric vehicle charging stations.

The Judiciary Committee has scheduled a public hearing on Monday to hear testimony on a bill.

The legislation would make it an infraction, typically punishable by a fine.

Lawmakers are also considering imposing restrictions on the amount of time that an electric vehicle may be left charging at a station.
