DPW crews in Mount Vernon said Tuesday that they were ready for Wednesday's nor'easter.

Anthony Amiano, the city's deputy DPW commissioner, tells News 12 that city trees were removed and many have been trimmed back.

On Tuesday, DPW also prepared for the storm with a delivery of about 150 tons of salt.

"We are going to be out in full force and see what Mother Nature brings us," said Amiano.

Residents said despite losing power in previous storms, they are ready as well.

"If we survived for 10 days in that awful, bitter cold, I think we can make it again. I just don't want damage to anything on the property,” said Anita Garfinkle.

Amiano said 24 crews would be on the roadways in preparation for the storm.

"If you let us do our job and don't get in our way, we'll be able to have all the streets clear,” he said.
