MOUNT VERNON -

A Mount Vernon teen charged in a deadly shooting faced a judge Tuesday.

Tasjawn White, 19, is accused of shooting and killing a man outside an apartment building on South Macquesten Parkway.

He is facing second-degree murder and attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting and killing Donovan Brown and wounding another man back on March 14.

Brown, 24, worked as a lifeguard at the New Rochelle YMCA.

During the court appearance, the judged asked the families of the victim and suspect to avoid outbursts, as emotions were high.

White's case will head to the grand jury, as prosecutors say they have video evidence from several locations to move forward.

There is no word yet on a motive for the shooting. Investigators do not believe White acted alone, but so far there have been no other arrests.
