Future leaders get jumpstart on career

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of future leaders in Westchester and Putnam counties learned new ways to fulfill their careers today.

The 7th Annual Youth Summit at the Crowne Plaza in White Plains was filled with hundreds of dedicated, motivated and aspiring leaders who are ready to take skills they're learned with them in the future.

The Westchester Putnam Work Development Academy for Youth and the Business Council of Westchester hosted the summit for people ages 16 to 24. This year's theme was "Navigate to Your Career Destination."

Participants learned how to identity and pursue a career in an industry they're interested in with the proper communication skills.  "I want to get some inspiration," says participant Brendon Jones.

Many of the students in attendance say they took time out of their spring breaks to be at the summit.
