Concrete barriers placed at Spring Valley mayor’s office

Six concrete barriers have been lined up outside of the mayor's office in Spring Valley.
News 12 reached out to Mayor Alan Simon's office, the Department of Public Works, elected officials and other local agencies -- but no one was willing to explain the appearance of the barriers.
Residents also seemed curious about the barriers, with some questioning their purpose.
"I don't see the good sense in them putting it here," says Yvs Lacrete, of Spring Valley.
Barriers are commonly used to prevent vehicles from driving down streets and pedestrian pathways.
Concrete barriers were installed on Manhattan's West Side Highway after a terrorist drove a truck down the bike path a few months ago.
Another common preventative measure is sanitation trucks filled with sand blocking the beginning and the end of a parade route.
