A medical marijuana dispensary company went before the Town of North Hempstead Zoning Appeals Board Wednesday to seek a parking variance for its Carle Place location.
News 12 has reported that Massachusetts-based PalliaTech was approved by the state to open four dispensaries throughout New York.
The board had rejected its building permit earlier this year due to insufficient parking at its Glen Cove Road property. If approved, it would be the town's second dispensary. The first one opened in 2016 in Lake Success.
According to Newsday, PalliaTech president and Chief Executive Michelle Bodner said that they now hoped to begin construction promptly for an early summer opening. The company has a 10-year lease on the Glen Cove Road property.
There was no word on when the board would have a final decision.
