Edison woman to run across US to raise funds for cancer research

A college student from Edison is spending her summer by running across the country.
Vaishali Ravikumar will be part of a relay team going coast-to-coast benefiting the Ulman Cancer Fund.
The run will go from San Francisco to Boston over seven weeks, and Ravikumar will run up to 16 miles at a time with stops at cancer centers along the way.
Ultimately, the goal of the run is raise $4,000 and run 4,000 miles.
Ravikumar has been running her entire life -- she was on the track team at JP Stevens High School and frequently practices in college.
She says that the run is a bucket list item that she wants to check off before she starts medical school next year.
