A mother is angry after her 9-year-old daughter was kicked out of Kensico Elementary School over a disputed address.
Samantha MacDonald says the issue stems from a dispute between her and the Valhalla School District over whether she resides at her listed address on North Broadway.
Samantha MacDonald said she never received letters from the school district informing her about her daughter not being allowed back in school.
"I cannot be contacted or receive certified mail to an incorrect address," MacDonald said.
Superintendent Dr. Karen Geelan said she couldn't comment on the dispute, but said in a statement: "These situations are particularly challenging where a parent is unresponsive and ignores numerous communications, including emails, phone calls, and letters and sends the child to school beyond the date of exclusion."
MacDonald also said her daughter missed two days of school over the dispute and wants an apology.
Her daughter, Sumena, is now registered for school in Ossining.
