Homeowner: Ramapo won’t do anything about flooding

RAMAPO -

A Rockland County man says he has a flooding problem that is being ignored by Ramapo.

David Lowinger lives on Sandy Brook Drive in New Hempstead, and says his backyard floods when it rains heavily.

Lowinger claims the flooding is caused by debris clogging a town-owned brook and easement butting up to his yard. "I haven't been able to enjoy my property outdoors for two years. The flooding has caused tremendous damage to my property as well. And I just really want it remedied at his point."

So far, News 12 calls to the Town of Ramapo for comment have not been returned.
