Singer Andy Grammer treated students at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Milford to a private concert to encourage them to become involved with their community.
The concert was a prize after the students collected the most items for Goodwill in the state in the charity's annual Bag It Up For Goodwill contest.
JFK students collected almost 60,000 items like stuffed animals and clothing. Their total donation weighed about 20,000 pounds and filled an entire school bus.
"It's wonderful," Grammer says. "I think teaching kids service at a young age is really important, and what a perfect way to do it."
All of the items the students collected will be recycled and sold in Goodwill stores across the state.
