2 men convicted in Maplewood triple murder

Two men accused of fatally shooting three people during a robbery at a home in Maplewood have both been convicted of murder and numerous other charges.
According to Essex County prosecutors, Lavelle Davis, 37, of Galloway, and Jimmy Mays, 34, formerly of Egg Harbor Township, each face life in prison when they are sentenced June 26.
Both were convicted late Friday and the verdicts were made public Monday.
The victims, Michael Davis, 45, who lived in the Maplewood home; Roshana Kelson, 30, of Paterson, and Lance Fraser, 44, of Newark, were found in the residence back in January 2017.
Firefighters discovered the bodies after family members told authorities they couldn't contact the victims.
Authorities say Mays and Lavelle Davis were looking to steal cash and drugs.
They say Lavelle Davis isn't related to Michael Davis.
