A Rockland County mother and daughter are graduating from two very well-known colleges with a masters in social work.
Gloria and Shauniqua Key, from Spring Valley, are almost 30 years apart in age but are receiving their degrees in the same month.

Shauniqua Key, 23, graduated Monday from the University of Pennsylvania with a masters in social work

Gloria Key, 51, graduates next week from Fordham University, also with a masters in social work.
Gloria Key decided in her 40s to get her undergraduate degree from Dominican College, setting a new standard for her three children.

That attitude led Shauniqua Key to graduate Spring Valley High, then Howard University and now the University of Pennsylvania.
The family overcame many hardships along the way, including being homeless and living in a hotel.
