Somers school adds security after threatening message

Posted: Updated:
SOMERS -

There was extra security stationed at Somers Middle School Monday after a threatening message was found on a wall Friday.

Three Westchester County police cruisers patrolled the school grounds. The school also locked its doors after the arrival of the last school bus.

The added layer of security comes after officials say someone wrote "I am going to shoot up the school" in the boys' bathroom.

Administrators say they believe it was a prank.
