Bridgeport residents start petition to install speed bumps

Some Bridgeport residents are calling on the city to install speed bumps following a series of recent accidents.
Residents have come together in the Pearl Harbor section of Bridgeport to circulate a petition that demanding speed bumps.
They say that speeding drivers have killed seven dogs and left one person with a broken leg over just the last year.
Some locals say the speeders fly by very often with virtually no traffic enforcement, despite the fact the area is near several schools.
Mayor Joe Ganim responded to the group, saying, "I am saddened and concerned to learn about the loss of these dogs and the injury to a resident. It is critical that we ensure safety in all of our neighborhoods. We will address this issue with the appropriate city departments in order to correct the problem as quickly as possible."
