The Rockland Boulders recently put up safety nets over the first base and third base dugouts at Palisades Credit Union Park.
Team officials said it wasn't mandatory by the Can-Am League, but that they are just trying to be proactive in making it safer for fans.
"Because the Major Leagues have done it and a lot of teams across the country have done it at the Minor League level, we thought this was a no brainer in just terms of making sure that our fans are well-protected when they come to our games," says Boulders Vice President Seth Cantor.
Team officials also say the Town of Ramapo was very influential in getting the netting.
