A Harriman couple is pushing for the passage of a furniture safety bill after losing their daughter in a tragic accident.
Erica and Aaron Fried lost their 3-year-old daughter Harper in 2016 when her dresser fell and pinned her. The two started a nonprofit called 'Harper Smiles' to educate parents about furniture safety and the importance of anchors to secure furniture to the walls.
The Frieds have now  joined forces with Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski to create 'Harper's Law.'  The bill would mandate furniture companies to post a tip-over warning label and provide access to safety brackets.
The bill passed in the state Assembly Monday and is now in the state Senate for review.
