Student claims bus driver who hit pole in Pearl River was distracted

An investigation underway after a school bus crash send four children to the hospital in Rockland County.
Officials say the bus was packed with students from Pearl River Middle School when the driver hit a telephone pole on Center Street Thursday.
Police and emergency responders rushed to the scene.
One girl told News 12 what she heard about the driver from a friend on the bus.
"She was asking a kid where the stop is because I guess she got confused I guess. She looked back to the bus to ask the kid and she wasn't watching where she was going so she hit the telephone pole," says Aoife Baker, of Pearl River.
The school bus driver is not working while the investigation is ongoing.
