Newburgh man pleads guilty to fatal stabbingPosted: Updated:
A Newburgh man has admitted to fatally stabbing a man in the neck.
Christopher Smith, 44, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in Orange County Court Monday in the 2017 death of William McMahon.
Prosecutors say Smith stabbed McMahon, who was staying in his home last April, then buried him in a large planter outside his house.
The District Attorney's office says it will recommend 20 years in state prison when he's sentenced in August.
