Man convicted of fraud scheme of dozens in Rockland County

ROCKLAND COUNTY -

One man has been convicted of ripping off more than a dozen people from Rockland County in a fake investment scheme.

Officials say Neil Chandran was ordered to pay nearly $3 million to 20 residents.

Prosecutors say he and his technology company SunGame Corp. talked several rabbis into investing thousands of dollars into computer tablets, but those victims never saw a return on investment.

Instead, prosecutors say Chandran used the money to pay back prior investors and for his own personal use
