As the sun set on a sweltering Monday, Freeport's Nautical Mile saw a number of people turning out for a cooling breeze, dinner and drinks outside.
News 12 meteorologists say the sizzling stretch of summer heat and humidity is continuing this week. High temperatures Tuesday will remain around 90 degrees.

"Have a pina colada, margarita, anything that is ice cold" suggests Jerry Bracco. "Even Pellegrino."
Elsewhere, Long Islanders found other ways to cope with the heat.
Alan Farina has one of the coolest jobs around, even as temperatures soar into the 90s. He owns South Shore Ice Corporation in Roosevelt, where tons of ice are made and distributed to local stores. He's seeing high demand amid the spell of sweltering weather -- including to bars and restaurants like Bracco's.
"Everything goes -- even the drinks in my office. I'm having warm soda and water," Farina says.
And with temperatures soaring into the 90s, some Long Islanders are searching for novel ways to keep their cool.
In East Meadow, the ice rink at the Northwell Health Ice Center was about 45 degrees cooler Monday than the air outside. They offer two-hour public skating sessions as a fun way to cool off.
The sessions run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and cost $15, plus $5 for skates.
