Police: Teen fatally stabbed after fight at New Cassel house party

A 16-year-old was stabbed to death early Thursday morning after a fight at a crowded party spilled out into the street in New Cassel.
Officers responded to Roman Avenue and Costar Street around 1:05 a.m. Thursday. They say it was the site of a July Fourth party that was advertised on Instagram with nearly 100 people in attendance.
Police say a fist fight erupted and eventually turned into a fight with weapons. They say shots were also fired during the altercation.
The 16-year-old, identified as Jordan Harris, of Uniondale, was stabbed during the chaos and pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities say a 19-year-old was also stabbed and in stable condition.
Police were still on the scene late Thursday morning searching for the knife that was used in the stabbing. There was no word on if it was found.
It was not immediately clear how the fight began, but teens who were at the party told News 12 that gang members were in attendance.
No arrests have been made.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
