It was a record-setting Fourth of July at the box office. Ticket revenue hit a five-year high, jumping 29 percent since the same time last year. Analysts credit the heat wave in the Northeast for sending people to the theater -- heat advisories affected close to 100 million people on Independence Day.
In all, Wednesday ticket sales brought in $43.5 million behind a strong opening for the horror movie "The First Purge" and continued momentum from "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" and "The Incredibles 2."
