A highly regarded and award-winning oncologist on Long Island has been accused of forcibly touching a female patient.
According to court documents, Dr. Dwight De Risi intentionally kissed the alleged victim on the mouth after a procedure at his Manhasset office and told her "you did good.”
The documents say the doctor again told the alleged victim "you did good" while rubbing her stomach and upper leg.
The woman who filed charges spoke with News 12 by phone Tuesday, but asked that her identity not be revealed. She said she wanted to “make sure he doesn’t do this to anyone else.”
Dr. De Risi pleaded not guilty to the charge and was ordered to stay away from the patient. The doctor and his attorney had no comment for News 12 after his arraignment.
He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court next month.
The doctor has won dozens of awards in a career that has spanned more than 30 years.
