It was a difficult night for firefighters not only battling the flames, but also the heat following a massive fire that ripped through multiple businesses in Passaic.
According to Passaic Mayor Hector Lora, the fire started at a restaurant near Lexington Avenue and quickly spread.
Multiple fire departments were called in to assist.
The heat was a concern for firefighters as well, with different companies and departments switching off in teams to avoid heat exhaustion.
The property manager says she'll do all she can to help the business owners relocate to nearby vacant buildings.
It’s known the fire started in a restaurant shortly after employees left the building, but still no word on how it started.
There are no injuries to report.
