The family of a 16-year-old honor student gunned down in Bed-Stuy last week confronted his accused killer in court Tuesday.
Latrell Brown was a senior at Brooklyn High School for Law and Technology, where he was studying criminal justice and aspired to play basketball and one day become a judge.
Justin Delpara, 17, faces a murder charge for allegedly firing the fatal bullet as Brown made his way down Macon Street alongside his girlfriend on July 11.
Brown's sister, Myasia Dickerson, says the crime is so heinous that Delpara deserves life in prison.
"He's going to wake up every day, just going to get three meals every day," she says. "Even if he gets 25 years, he's only 17. When he gets out, he'll have a long life to live. And I don't want that. He should never see the light of day again."
The family will mark Brown's funeral Friday.
Brown's family has already raised close to $4,000 through a GoFundMe page set up for the slain teen in order to cover funeral expenses.
