2 suspects sought after Bronx confrontation that left LI officer hurt

The search continues for two men today, after a Long Island police officer accidentally shot himself in the Bronx.
Police say the unidentified Hempstead Village police officer was rear-ended by another vehicle in the University Heights section of the Bronx Saturday morning.
When they got out of the car, the NYPD says two other men drove up to the scene, all 4 started assaulting the officer, and then tried to rob the 33-year-old.
News 12 is told the officer opened fire, hitting two men and unintentionally shooting himself.
Everyone's injuries are non-life threatening.
The Hempstead officer is still in the hospital.
Officials say two of the suspects are still on the run.
