HILLBURN -

A Washington, D.C. man has been charged with driving drunk with three children in his car in Hillburn.

Police say they stopped a car on Route 59 Monday after they noticed the children, all under the age of 16, weren't wearing seatbelts.

That's when they say they discovered the 60-year-old driver was drunk.

He's now facing multiple charges including aggravated DWI and endangering the welfare of a child. Leandra's Law is a New York State law making it an automatic felony on the first offense to drive drunk with a person age 15 or younger inside the vehicle, and setting the blood alcohol content, or BAC, at 0.08.
