State Sen. Jesse Hamilton claims a woman called 911 on him while he handed out re-election pamphlets at the Prospect Park subway stop last Thursday morning.
Hamilton says the woman didn't like a reference to President Donald Trump on the pamphlet. The NYPD confirms a patrol responded around 8:06 a.m.
In response to the incident, Hamilton has introduced 911 anti-discrimination legislation that would make it a hate crime to file a false report based on race. The person who made the call could face criminal charges.
Hamilton says it would be up to police to determine whether the person's actions were discriminatory.
