A style expert is sharing the latest fashion trends this school season.

Burlington style finder Jackie Mirrane says both camouflage and athleisure are trendy for girls.

She says vertical stripes and plaids are huge, as well as mustard tones and T-shirts with messages on them.

Mirrane says hair accessories also add a finishing touch with fun colors and whimsical styles.

She says boy's fashion this year is all about layering.  The style expert says activewear sets, windbreakers, varsity-inspired and sport pieces are trending.  She says backpacks are also important.

"Everybody has to have a great backpack. That's like the No. 1 thing when you get back to school is, 'What is your backpack,'" she says.

Mirrane says a fresh new pair of kicks will top off your trendy outfit.
