Police: Man barricaded self in home after domestic incident

A Stratford man barricaded himself inside his Quail Street home Friday following a domestic incident, police say.
They blocked off the neighborhood and told residents to stay indoors.
According to police, the incident started with a domestic dispute between a man and his girlfriend. They say the woman called 911.
A SWAT team was called in, and police say the man, who had guns, eventually surrendered without incident.
"He actually came out and surrendered to the officers, which is the best case scenario," Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti says.
The standoff had lasted more than an hour before ending peacefully.
The man was taken away in an ambulance, although police say he wasn't hurt. No officers were injured.
Officials say they've secured search warrants to check the home for more weapons.
Neighbors say this is not the first time police have been called to the home.
Authorities have not released the name of the man involved. It is unknown if the man will face charges.
