Former teacher’s aide indicted for having handgun at school

A former Rockland teacher's aide has been indicted for allegedly bringing a loaded gun onto school grounds.

Gillian Jeffords was arrested in March after police say she had a gun  in her handbag at the Rockland BOCES Jesse J. Kaplan School.

The 32-year-old from Warwick was fired shortly after the incident.

Jeffords was indicted on several charges including child endangerment. She faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison if convicted.
