Reward increased in case of dead dogs dumped in Hempstead sump

Officials have increased the reward to find the person who dumped seven dead pit bulls at a Hempstead sump.
The six adult dogs and one puppy were found in large black garbage bags off South Franklin Street last week.
The Nassau SPCA says someone donated $1,000 to bring the reward from $5,000 to $6,000.
Anyone with information can anonymously call 516-THE-SPCA.
