Police: Slain teen was not intended target in Brownsville playground shooting

Police say a teenager who was fatally shot in the head Friday at Chester Playground in Brownsville was not the intended target.
Officials believe 16-year-old Timothy Oyebola, of Queens, was playing basketball with three others when he was shot. The teen was found unconscious and unresponsive just before 4 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the head.
EMS took him to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Neighbors are upset that this happened in their community.
"I heard two gunshots and then about 15 minutes later I came out and saw all the commotion," said Bradford Jeffrey, of Brownsville. "I'm just sad that it took place."
Police say they've made no arrests so far and have no suspects at this time.
They also say two men were seen fleeing the location southbound on Chester Street after the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
