Walkout to support sexual assault survivors

Posted: Updated:
WHITE PLAINS -

Activists in Westchester, and around the country, are planning a walk-out to support sexual assault survivors this afternoon.

A rally is planned in White Plains by the fountain on Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue at 1 p.m.

Organizers ask that people wear black and leave their home, office and classroom at 1 p.m., and share pictures using the hashtag "BELIEVE SURVIVORS."

The goal of the event is to encourage assault survivors to share their stories.
