New York City police are searching for a man they say injured two New Jersey men in an anti-gay attack in Brooklyn.
The attack happened early Sunday in Brooklyn's Williamsburg section.
Authorities say that the Hawthorne men were leaving a gay bar on the 500 block of Metropolitan Avenue around 1 a.m. Sunday when the suspect made anti-gay comments as he approached them.
Police say the suspect punched one man in the face and threw the other victim into a tree. The victim’s names were not released, but police say that they are 34 years old and 29 years old respectively.
Both victims were knocked unconscious during the attack. One victim suffered a broken shoulder and the other victim sustained a broken finger.
Police say the suspect fled the scene. A witness was able to take a picture of the suspect, which police have released to the public. The suspect is described as a white, heavyset man with brown hair. He was seen wearing a black T-shirt and khaki pants.
