Yonkers police test new non-lethal restraint device

Posted: Updated:

A new police tool is being tested out in Yonkers.

The new device is called the ‘Bola-Wrap.’ It wraps up suspects using an eight-foot long tether.

It's a non-lethal restraint that officers can use instead of a Taser, and it can be used from up to 25 feet away.

The new device is not on the market yet, but is being tested at dozens of police departments nationwide, including Yonkers.
