Taylor Swift inspires fans to register to vote

Vote.org says Taylor Swift inspired fans to register to vote with her Instagram post backing Tennessee Democrats.
The music superstar announced that she's voting for Tennessee's Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen, breaking her long-standing refusal to discuss anything politics.
Kamari Guthrie, director of communications for Vote.org, told Buzzfeed that the nonprofit organization gained 65,000 registrations following Swift's post.
This was Vote.org's second-busiest day of the year, since National Voter Registration Day on Sept. 25.
In the post, she also slammed Republican candidate and U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn. "As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me," Swift wrote.
Swift has faced criticism for not speaking about political issues despite having a global platform.
