Storms could bring heavy downpours and flash flooding to the Hudson Valley today.
News 12 meteorologists say tropical moisture from Hurricane Michael is combining with a cold front to bring on and off showers and thunderstorms all day to the region. The most powerful storms are expected Thursday afternoon into early evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch until late tonight. It has also warning of coastal flooding along the Sound Shore.
The rain is expected to clear the area by midnight.
Friday will start a major cooldown with highs only around 62 degrees. Mostly sunny skies are expected.
