The heaviest rain will fall through midnight. The rain then becomes lighter and tapers off during the overnight hours. Total rainfall amounts will generally average between 1 and 2 inches. Along with the rain, the front is bringing gusty winds with gusts up to 35-50 mph and much colder temperatures. The top of the storm is expected to bring lake effect snow to upstate New York, but no snow is predicted for the Hudson Valley.
The weekend is forecast to be windy with a mix of sun and clouds with high temperature around 45 degrees.
News 12 meteorologists are keeping an eye on another storm which could bring accumulating snow to areas near I-84 on Tuesday.
