Police responded to a report of shots fired in Port Chester Wednesday afternoon.
Video shows a standoff between Port Chester police and a man they say is suicidal. A 911 call came a 7 p.m. Wednesday after at least two shots were fired inside a home on Willett Avenue.
When police heard three children were inside, they bolted in, getting all of them out safely. They then found the 28-year-old man on the third floor with a shotgun pointed at his head.
As the man was being taken from the home, he mentioned something about an explosive device, prompting a response from Special Operations of Westchester County to search the home. Willett Avenue was closed for hours while the search was conducted.
Police were able to take the man into custody. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center to be evaluated.
No one was hurt.
