Foundation raises money for children in need with prosthetics

A new foundation held a benefit on Sunday in Lido Beach to raise money for children in need.
The Out on A Limb Foundation aims to provide the children with prosthetics, physical therapy and support, which could cost a family thousands of dollars out of pocket every year.
Out on A Limb Foundation founder and prosthetist Robert Schulman also goes abroad to help children with limb loss internationally.

"In a lot of these countries, if you're not functionally helping the family to provide, they actually think of them as useless and it's a very tough situation,” says Schulman.
Proceeds from Sunday’s benefit will go specifically to a kids-only facility for prosthetics where no family will ever have to pay out of pocket.
In addition to monetary donations, the organization accepts used prosthetics to make new ones for children in need.
