Students at Iona Prep walk to fight hunger

Students at Iona Prep are raising money for hunger relief on their New Rochelle campus.
They’re participating in a “Hunger Walk” in which students from pre-K to eighth grade made banners and placed them around the school track.
Iona Prep principal Joe Blanco said, “They’re learning about some of the issues about hunger in the world and about how people are struggling to make ends meet, but then they also get the benefit of knowing they’re doing something about it. They can attack the problems of the world and maybe be beneficial to other people through their actions.”
Students hope to raise more than $7,000 during the event.
