Northport Veterans Affairs rolled out a new mobile medical unit in North Hempstead Tuesday to help veterans in need.

The unit will be parked at Clinton G. Martin Park on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Officials say the mobile unit will make it easier for vets in northern Nassau County, who are nearly an hour from the VA hospital, to access medical care.

Another mobile unit will be parked at the VFW Hall on Hill Street in Glen Cove every Thursday.

To see a doctor at either location, you have to call the VA and make an appointment.
